I look forward to working with my fellow mayors as we think local and act global in implementing the Paris Agreement at the local level.”

“It is an honor and a great challenge for Medellín to be representative for Latin America of the C40 Steering Committee,” said Federico Gutierrez Zuluaga, Mayor of Medellin. “We have demonstrated real leadership in the development of mitigation and adaptation practices towards climate change, and from the position we assume, we will open a wide range of possibilities of progress in our region. We strongly believe that we are able to connect with territories which face similar obstacles and create sustainable changes in local environments. We face this new challenge with all the responsibility, for the present and the future of our city and the cities of Latin America.”

"I am very excited to be elected as the Vice-Chair from South and West Asia to the Steering Committee of C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group,” said Mohammad Sayeed Khokon, Mayor of Dhaka South. “I look forward to joining Mayor Anne Hidalgo from Paris, the Chair of the Steering Committee and Secretary General Abdulla Al Basti from Dubai, the Vice Chair of the Steering Committee from South and West Asia in helping deliver C40’s mission.
