Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF)

The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) is an independent philanthropic organisation headquartered in London with offices in Nairobi and New Delhi and a presence in Ethiopia. CIFF works with a wide range of partners seeking to transform and empower the lives of poor and vulnerable children in developing countries, with the ultimate goal of solving seemingly intractable challenges to ensure all children have the chance to survive and thrive.
CIFF aims to play a catalytic role as a funder and influencer to deliver urgent and systemic change at scale. The organisation’s climate portfolio is driven by a vision of a climate-safe future for today’s children and future generations that also bear the benefits of cleaner air, energy security and sustainable jobs. 
Founded in 2003, CIFF employs approximately 100 professionals in England, Kenya, India and Ethiopia. CIFF strives to couple business acumen and principles with development experience and best practices to transform the landscape for children. It seeks to be the gold standard in grant making and foundation operations.

 

 

Realdania

Realdania is a philanthropic association with around 149,000 members. The association seeks to improve quality of life through the built environment, defined as the physical settings for our everyday life. Realdania is focused on both living and future generations and seeks to promote sustainability and generate new knowledge and innovation. Since 2000, Realdania has supported more than 3,200 projects with a total of DKK 17 billion. Anyone in Denmark who owns real estate can become a member.

Arup

Arup is an independent professional services consortium that delivers innovative and sustainable solutions in a broad range of disciplines.

Arup is a firm that values learning. Our partnerships with global organisations like C40 enable an exchange of knowledge and ideas and help make a positive difference in society. Such partnerships reinforce our commitment to sustainability, both in the work we do for our clients and the way we run our business.

In June 2015, Arup signed a major partnership with C40, committing $1 million of consultancy support over three years to help cities take meaningful action against climate change. Read more about Arup’s partnership with C40 or watch the video below.

Since 2011, C40 has partnered with Arup to create the Climate Action in Megacities Report, a comprehensive analysis of what the mayors of the C40 megacities are doing to tackle climate change.

Citi Foundation

Citi and the Citi Foundation support the climate finance activities of C40 Cities, with the goal of helping cities lower their carbon emissions and reducing the impacts of climate change. The partnership provides advice and support to cities through the publication of good practice guides, and also organizes forums and webinars jointly. In 2015, C40 Cities partnered with the Citi Foundation and the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities to launch an initiative that focuses on scaling up sustainable urban services to support cities to deliver their transformative visions for a sustainable future.

 

BEIS

C40 is supported by the UK Government through The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy(BEIS). BEIS brings together responsibilities for business, industrial strategy, science, energy and climate change. The department is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive industrial strategy and leading the government's relationship with business.

 

BMU

Since 2008, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) has been financing climate and biodiversity projects in developing and newly industrialising countries, as well as in countries in transition. Based on a decision taken by the German parliament (Bundestag), a sum of at least 120 million euros is available for use by the initiative annually. The Initiative places clear emphasis on climate change mitigation, adaption to the impacts of climate change and the protection of biological diversity. These efforts provide various cobenefits, particularly the improvement of living conditions in partner countries.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark

The Danish Foreign Service operates globally to work for Denmarks' interests and values in relation to the surrounding world in a manner that furthers the freedom, security and welfare of Danes in a more peaceful and just world, with development and economic growth for all. The Danish Foreign Service comprises the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen and a global network abroad of Embassies, Consulates-General and Trade Commissions.

OAK Foundation

Oak Foundation commits its resources to address issues of global, social and environmental concern, particularly those that have a major impact on the lives of the disadvantaged. With offices in Europe, Africa, India and North America, Oak Foundation makes grants to organisations in approximately 40 countries worldwide.
