The City Government enacted the Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance to regulate the consumers’ use of plastic bags and to implement for the type 1 retailers (such as shopping malls, supermarkets, fast food chains, pharmacies etc.) a Plastic Recovery System Fee in exchange of plastics that will be earmarked for a Green Fund and utilized for environmental projects, benefitting the residents of Quezon City.
