Editor’s Note: 2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. To celebrate our 10 Years of Results, we will be featuring the voices of C40 principals, partners and other thought leaders throughout the year.

42nd President of the United States William J. Clinton, founder of the Clinton Foundation and prominent champion of climate initiatives, wishes C40 a happy 10th anniversary. The Clinton Foundation’s Climate Initiative worked alongside the C40 since its inception to help dozens of cities drive climate action, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lead the way to a more sustainable future.

“Ten years ago, when the C40 was created, my Foundation was honored to be asked to help large cities’ develop and implement their climate and energy efficiency plans. Since then, C40 cities have shown the world how to grow economies, create jobs, AND reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Today, the C40 is the world’s preeminent network of cities working to address climate change, connecting the regions of the world, building on each others’ experiences, and signaling to national governments that tangible solutions and measureable results are possible.”
