Global Houston features C40’s Brian Yeoman on city’s “energy conservation” trajectory
Global Houston’s newsletter, The Bridge, sat down with C40’s Houston City Director Brian Yeoman for an in-depth interview on his longstanding work supporting the city’s sustainability accomplishments over two Mayoral administrations. Serving as Houston's link to international resources, the Global Houston website was developed to foster better communication and collaboration within Houston’s international community.
In the piece, Yeoman describes a number of award-winning initiatives in outdoor lighting, electric vehicles, building retrofit and green energy that have helped Houston cut carbon, save money and create jobs, advancing Houston Mayor Annise Parker’s goal of transforming the city from the “energy capital to the energy conservation capital”. He notes the important role their C40 membership has played in supporting these on-the-ground climate actions, not only through direct assistance but also through data-gathering and knowledge-sharing across the global C40 network of cities.
