Deputy Mayor of London launches new RE:FIT Framework

The Greater London Authority’s new RE:FIT Framework was launched in December by Deputy Mayor for Housing Land and Property, Richard Blakeway, at an event at City Hall.

RE:FIT is the Mayor of London’s award-winning programme which allows public sector organisations cut carbon emissions and reduce their energy costs by installing energy efficiency measures in their buildings. Under RE:FIT, 111 buildings have already been retrofitted, or are close to completion, representing a capital investment of £13 million, with an estimated CO2 reduction of 12,000 tonnes per annum and energy savings of around £2.1 million per annum.

The event on 13th December was attended by 100 representatives of public sector organisations, the RE:FIT Programme Delivery Unit and the 13 suppliers appointed to the new Framework. Under the Framework, the energy savings are guaranteed by the supplier and a wide range of financing options are available.
