A few years ago hybrid buses were just technologies for wealthy countries. A couple of years ago battery electric buses were just a luxurious dream. Today, C40 cities like Bogota, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Santiago de Chile can tell the world that those low carbon techs are ready to run in these cities, and for good.

Key participants of the C40-CCI Hybrid & Electric Bus Test Program in Latin America, including city government officials and local bus operators, are on a unique fact-finding trip to a number of C40 cities around the world, where they are investigating best practices in transport policy as well as the performance and economics of different bus technologies. The trip was organized and led by Manuel Olivera, C40-CCI City Director in Bogota and the Director of the Hybrid & Electric Bus Test Program. Los principales participantes del Programa C40-CCI de Buses Híbridos y Eléctricos en América Latina, incluyendo a funcionarios gubernamentales de la ciudad y de los operadores de buses locales, se encuentran en un viaje de investigación a algunas de las ciudades del C40 alrededor del mundo, donde se están investigando las mejores prácticas en políticas de transportes, así como el rendimiento y la economía de las tecnologías de buses.
